The HIYA NIGERIA team on Thursday 26th of July 2018 met with the Director-General and the management of National Broadcasting Commission, the intent of the meeting is to discuss the partnership request by the team for a Community Radio Broadcasting license.
The project coordinator of HIYA NIGERIA, Damilola Oni said the community radio will be used to achieve the aims and objectives of the project which is to enlighten the populace on their civic responsibilities, an honour for the national symbols, employment opportunities, sensitization of the grass root in their various indigenous language.


She further stated the need for partnership with the commission is to co-host nationwide grass root broadcast platform for mass mobilization for effective dissemination of information, for the commission is to participate in the setup and supervision of the community radio output.
Speaking at the courtesy visit, The director general of national broadcasting commission appreciate the effort of the team as the project will sustain the culture and indigenous language that is almost fading away to the future generation. However, he advised that before the team orient anyone, they should know more about Nigeria and society at large.


Finally, the director gave a headlight to the team to apply for the community radio license and if it meets the criteria, then the license will be issued out. He also stated that the commission can always make a recommendation for HIYA NIGERIA project making, emphasizing that the radio station should be used for National Advocacy.
